Congratulations to Scoil Íosagáin Buncrana who competed in the National Sportshall Athletics in Athlone on Wednesday last – and came home with hatful of medals and an All-Ireland title.

The bus left Buncrana at 05.30am . After 2 hours of tough competition the 3rd and 4th class boys were crowned All Ireland Champions.

The 1st All Ireland title for the Buncrana school.

The 5th  6th class boys scooped the silver medal.

They were very impressive on the day and narrowly missed out on the second gold.

The 3rd and 4th class girls rounded of the success finishing 4th overall.

It was an incredible day for the school . The children trained hard for this competition under the guidance of Pauric Mc Kinney the much celebrated runner who is based in Inishowen.

Pauric was assisted by Pat Gallagher  Inishowen Athletic club. Both these teachers were assisted by Inishowen Athletic Club members.

The students were treated to a massive home coming and this will be talked about in Buncrana for the coming years.

With this amount of Athletic talent in one school alone Inishowen AC can look forward to a very bright future in juvenile athletics.
