You Shall be my Witnesses
The next evening of the confirmation programme is on Thursday evening in St. Columba’s Community Centre, Burtonport at 7.00 p.m. This is the final session before Confirmation.

The Burtonport Action Group has taken possession of the Cope building in Burtonport, given to them on the understanding that if it is sold, it must be vacated within a month. The group needs to do a clean and freshen up with some light repairs to turn it into a facility to show off the port, its history and its crafts, etc, and offer a cuppa to a weary traveler. They would like volunteers to help in task of making the building ready, cleaners, and tradesmen willing to donate a few hours to them, i.e., joiners, painters, plumbers, etc. Our goal is that this community project will begin to put Burtonport back on the map. Contact Mario or Frank for info.

The Next Do this in Memory Mass in the programme takes place on Saturday 31st. As our schedule has clashed with the event, “Acres got Talent”, the teachers have taken on the task of preparing the children for the mass this one time. So there will not be a meeting this Wednesday.

The Donegal Camerata String Ensemble
will perform works by Rossini, Stamitz, Spielter and Parry, this Sunday, March 25th at 3pm at Conwal Parish Church, Letterkenny.

Prior booking is essential on 9561931.

Haiti Appeal
On Saint Patrick’s Day I took up a church gate collection for returning to Haiti, and I am humbled by the generosity and support you have given in helping me return to help the less fortunate. We are overwhelmed by the amount everyone has donated which realized €2944.59 between Kincasslagh & Acres. I appreciate all the help and support you all have given me, and because of this I am able to go on the trip in May
Thank You, Adrian Ward

St Patrick’s Day Celebrations Burtonport.
The organising committee of the St Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Burtonport would like to say a big THANK YOU to individual community members and businesses alike for their overwhelming generosity whilst supporting this event. The event was a real community effort which saw so many people help out in a wide variety of ways. Thank you to all who contributed prizes for raffles and games, food for consumption, your musical and dance talents for our entertainment, your time to help out with cooking, baking, setting up, cleaning up and manning various activities on the day, your contribution of art work and product for the displays and tabletops…etc etc
Figures show that after expenses the event raised €3300 to be split evenly between the Local Lifeboat Fund and The Burtonport Festival.
