DONEGAL County Councillors have had a ‘peace’ meeting today – to try to ensure meetings don’t end up being adjourned.
TWO separate electoral areas will each give €25k towards the funding of the Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle ferries, councillors agreed today.
Several councillors expressed annoyance today at March Donegal County Council meeting over the “annual media storm” over whether or not the ferry services would be available for the summer months.
County manager Seamus Neely said €50k was being made available.
The issue had led to a row at the last council meeting in February and its subsequent adjournment.
It’s understood councillors had a ‘peace meeting’ this morning and agreed to abide by standing orders throughout today’s meeting.
