The human remains found along the Co Donegal shoreline this week have been confirmed as that of a man missing from Derry.

Eamonn Moore, 22, was last seen after he left his home in on Magazine Street in Derry city centre on November 26th last.

The remains were found along the shoreline at Redcastle on Tuesday afternoon by two women out walking in a remote area.

The remains were so badly decomposed that Gardai could not tell if the remains were male or female.

Since then both Gardai and the PSNI have been working with DNA samples and dental records in a bid to identify the body.

A positive match was confirmed this afternoon.

Mr Moore is believed to have texted the words ‘Sorry’ to some friends and relatives before he went missing.
