AN investigation into an alleged paedophile ring linked to notorious pervert Michael Ferry is at an “advanced” stage, Justice Minister Alan Shatter’s office said today.

It follows a claim in the Irish Independent that up to six more paedophiles could be charged.

“The position is that the minister received an interim report about this matter from the Garda Commissioner. This indicated that the gardai were carrying out an investigation into certain matters which arose,” said a spokesman

“This investigation is at an advanced stage.”
