A JUDGE from Co Donegal told a defendant in a case that he would “swallow you up and spit you out” it was alleged in the High Court, according to today’s Irish Independent.

Judge Sean MacBride had a decision to detain a suspect without bail successfully overturned.

The appeal hearing also heard how the Judge held the defendant’s solicitor in contempt of court for having a hand in his pocket, telling him: “”I am a Donegal man and we don’t suffer fools, there was another practitioner who spoke to me like that in Donegal and I put on manners him and I am going to put manners on you too.”
