Gardai in Letterkenny have appealed for the public’s help after the shooting incident at Legnatraw, St. Johnston, last night.

The shooting occurred between 10 and 10.30pm.

Supt Vincent O’Brien said today: “It is believed that at least two armed and masked males entered a house at Legnatraw  and were involved in a shooting incident where a male(39yrs) received gun shot injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Lettekenny general hospital where his condition is described as not life threatening. A female(34yrs) who was in the house at the time of the shooting was uninjured.

“The scene was preserved for a technical examination.

“A silver 4×4 was located at Moness, a townsland approximately 1 mile from the scene of the shooting shortly after the incident. The 4×4 has been preserved for technical examination.

“Gardai in Letterkenny are appealing to any witnesses or anyone who may have information or may have seen unusual activity (between 9pm and 11pm on the 1st May) around the the vicinity of Legnatraw or around Moness where the 4×4 was located to contact them in Letterkenny on 074 9167100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
