DONEGAL County Council staff are gritting the main Donegal Town to Killybegs road today after an oil spill caused two vehicles to crash.

A spokesman has urged “extreme caution” along the route whilst staff organise a clean-up operation.

This is the just the latest oil spill on the road; locals say there was a smaller spill there two months ago.

No-one was seriously injured in this morning’s accidents.

The council say a ‘stop-go’ system is in operation whilst the clean-up continues.

Gardai are also patrolling the area.
