Glenea win 4-2 on penalties

GLENEA United beat Gweedore Celtic on penalties to win the Brian McCormick Premier Division Play Off final at Diamond Park, Ballyare, today.

Glenea, with the wind advantage in the first half took, the lead in the 17th minute thanks to a strike just inside the 18 yard box from Darren McGeever.

Gweedore equalised in the second half with David Ward scoring direct from a corner.

But extra-time failed to separate the sides and it came down to penalties – with United winning 4-2 in the shoot-out.
