A DAY IN THE LIFE OF SHAY GIVEN: OLD CLUB WIN TITLE, BOSS FIRED & A CHAT WITH SIR BRUCE FORSYTH

WHAT a week it has been for Lifford goalie Shay Given!

His old club Manchester City won the title on Sunday and his boss at Aston Villa was fired within hours.

But yesterday Shay was sunning himself in Spain – alongside TV legend Sir Bruce Forsyth!

The goalkeeper sent hearty congratulations to his former colleagues at City within an hour of the incredible victory.

But his own side lost 2-0 at Norwich and manager Alex McLeish was quickly shown the door.

But the 36-year-old was quickly off to the Med to get some rest time before the Euro 2012 challenges ahead next month.

And what better way to start your holiday than saying a quick ‘Ola’ to Strictly presenter Bruce Forsyth.

On football matters, the Donegal man tweeted: “Sorry to see McLeish go as he is a good man. But the fans wishes have been granted so we need to respect them as they are the soul of club.”
