DONEGAL DEATH NOTICES FOR TUESDAY, MAY 15, 2012

JIMMY SWEENEY (CORK/GAOTH DOBHAIR)

The death has occurred of James ‘Jimmy Sweeney’ of Ballincollig, Co Cork and Gaoth Dobhair. Peacefully, at his daughter’s residence. James (Jimmy), beloved husband of Rena (née Byrne) and loving father of Marian, Noirin, Edel, Eoghan and Catherena and fond grandfather of Laura, Damian, Emily, James, Rebecca, Oscar and Dylan. Sadly missed by his loving wife, family, daughter- in-law Teresa, sons-in-law Bernard and Andrew, grandchildren, sisters Máire, Teresa and Nellie, brothers-in-law, sisters- in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Lying in repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig. Rosary this Tuesday evening at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg, Co. Donegal. Funeral afterwards to Maheragallan Cemetery.

SARAH MCGETTIGAN (GLASGOW/BRINALACK)

The death has occurred in Scotland of Sarah McGettigan, nee Gallagher formally of Brinalack, Gaoth Dobhair. Remains will travel from Larne via Letterkenny to the home of her nephew Gerard Thomas, Clogher, Donegal for 8pm tonight, Tuesday. Removal from there tomorrow, Wednesday at 10.30am for Funeral Mass in St Agatha’s Church, Clar for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

DAN MCKINNEY (GLASGOW/GLENEELY)

The death has taken place in St Francis’s Nursing Home, Glasgow, of Dan McKinney, formerly Glenshinney, Moneydarragh, Gleneely. Remains will repose at his daughter’s home from 1.30pm on Thursday, with removal to St Fergus’s Church, Paisley to arrive at 6pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 9.30am with interment afterwards in St Conval’s Cemetery, Barrhead.

BREEGE MCGRATH

The death has taken place at Letterkenny General Hospital of Breege McGrath, nee McNulty, 122 Ard O’Donnell, Letterkenny and formally of Curragh, Killygordan.Remains reposing at her home. Removal from there on Thursday  at 10.30am to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass at 11. Interment afterwards in Conwal Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice and the Oncology Ward, Letterkenny General Hospital – c/o Frank Bradley, Funeral Director, Ard O’Donnell, Letterkenny.

MARY MCGEE

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Mary McGee, Millfield Buncrana. Reposing at her late residence. Funeral from there on Thursday at 9.30am going to St Mary Oratory, Buncrana for Requiem Mass at 10am. Interment afterwards in Cockhill Cemetery. House private please from 11pm to 11am. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice c/o McKinney Funeral Directors Buncrana.

HUGHIE GALLAGHER

The death has taken place of Hughie Gallagher, 22 Muckish Avenue, Letterkenny. His remains are reposing at his home. Removal from there tomorrow Wednesday at 12.20pm for Requiem Mass at 1pm in St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny, followed by interment in Conwal cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice, c/o Frank Bradley Funeral Director, Ard O’Donnell, Letterkenny.

JAMES MCGLOIN (WATERFORD/RATHMULLAN)

The sudden death has taken place in Waterford of James Mc Gloin, Main Street, Rathmullan. His remains are reposing at his home. Requiem Mass tomorrow, Wednesday, at 2pm in St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan, followed by internment in the adjoining cemetery. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife Peg,son and daughters,brothers and sisters,relatives and friends.

OLIVER MCFARLAND

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Oliver Mc Farland, Mondooey, Manorcunningham. Remains reposing at his late residence. Funeral from there tomorrow, Wed, at 1pm, for service in Raymochy Parish Church, Manorcunningham, followed by burial in the family plot. Family time please from 10pm to 10am. Family flowers only please – Donations in lieu if desired to the Donegal Hospice, or the Oncology Ward, Letterkenny General Hospital, c/o Mc Clintock and Dioherty Funeral Directors, Townparks, Convoy.

ROGER DOOHAN

The death has taken place of Roger Doohan, Glassan, Creeslough. Remains reposing at his late residence. Funeral Mass at 11am in St Michael’s Church, Creeslough tomorrow, Wed, followed by burial in Doe cemetery. Family time from 11pm to 10am.
