ULSTER SENIOR LEAGUE

GLENEA SHOCK KILDRUM

Glenea United will meet Bonagee United in the final of the Knockalla Caravans Cup in a fortnight’s time after they shocked Ulster Senior League outfit Kildrum Tigers in their semi final tie today at Station Road, St Johnston. Glenea United who won the Donegal Premier League last weekend in a penalty shoot-out against Gwedore Celtic took the lead shortly after half time through Darren McGeever. The Tigers with home advantage on their side responded quickly and got an equaliser from Gavin Doherty, but mid way through the second half Glenea were awarded a penalty and McFadden made no mistake from 12 yards out to book their final spot.

COCKHILL EARLY LEADERS

Elsewhere this weekend, Cockhill Celtic are the early leaders of this seasons Ulster Senior League after they travelled to Dry Arch Park, Bonagee and came away with a 4-1 victory over Peter Moran’s Bonagee United.

On Wednesday night Fanad United joined Letterkenny Rovers on 6 points after they defeated the Rovers by 2 goals to 1, Mark Harkin put Rovers ahead but goals from Seimi Friel and Eunan Kelly gave Fanad all three points.

Last night Drumkeen United-who are in FAI Cup action next Friday night against League of Ireland outfit Bohemians, drew 3-3 with Swilly Rovers. A goal from Sean Ferry and a Richie Moore brace for Drumkeen were cancelled out by strikes from Marty McDaid, Keith Hegarty and the evergreen Michael McHugh.
