Club Notes – Naomh Adhamhnáin – 21.05.12
With Donegal in action at the weekend in Cavan, the Adult football teams all had a free weekend. Congratulations to Rory on captaining Donegal and turning in a man of the match performance. Well done to our representatives on the Minor team also. The Seniors and Reserves will entertain Ardara this Sunday in the Park at 1:30pm and 3pm. The Juniors have no match.
The Golf Scramble will take place in Barnhill on Saturday, June 9th. It is being organised by James Friel on 086-8255474 or Sean Boyle, Elaina and Dermot. Teams of 4 are €100. Tees and Greens can also be sponsored if you are unable to take part on the day.
The U-14 Footballers began their League campaigns last Wednesday. The Div. 1 team travelled to The Bridge and had a big win over St. Michael’s; they are at home to Cloughaneely this week. The Div. 2 team won a close game with neighbour’s Termon and travel to face Fanad Gaels this week. The young Div. 3 team were beaten in Urris and they are also away from home this week, travelling to Robert Emmett’s.
The U-12 Footballers are in action on Monday nights and this week the U-12’s were at home against Termon with both teams getting wins in tight games. The U-11’s travelled to Robert Emmett’s on Friday and came away with a good victory, they had no game on Monday night.
The U14 Hurlers have reached the League Final this coming Thursday with a fine win over Aodh Rua in the semi-final. Good luck to the lads in the final against a strong Buncrana team. The game will be played in Burt at 7pm. Support for the boys would be much appreciated.
Congratulations to Niall O’Donnell who came 2nd in the County U14 hurling Skills competition.
Well done to the Boys school managed by Rory Kavanagh who won the Letterkenny Hurling Cup defeating the Gael Scoil in the Final. Congratulations to Woodlands who won the Camogie Final in the Letterkenny Cup. Thanks to all the teachers from the 8 participating schools, pupils and to Colm Breathnach, Marty McGrath and Gavin Craig for organising this successful Hurling day.
Well done to Kevin Meehan and Francis Lennon who played on the Donegal County Minor hurling team in the Championship game last Saturday against Down.
U16 and U18 Hurling training is on every Monday at 5:30pm in O’Donnell Park. U12 Hurling training Tuesday at 5:30, U14 Hurlers train at 4:30. As usual all new hurlers welcome.
The U12 hurlers travelled to Aodh Rua on Sunday morning and competed in a very well organised Blitz. The team played Setanta, Letterkenny Gaels and Aodh Rua winning all three games. Thanks to Aodh Rua for their hospitality on the day. Training continues on Tuesdays at 5.30pm and any players who took part in the recent Primary schools competition and want to continue playing are invited to come along.
Cúl Camps will be in O’Donnell Park from 2nd July – 6th July. We will also be hosting our own Camps again this year. The Hurling & Camogie is on July 16th – 20th with the Football on July 23rd – 27th.
