Donegal’s two Olympic marathon hopefuls will learn today if they are to compete at the games in London.
Both Maria McCambridge and Catriona Jennings from Letterkenny have run under the qualifying time of 2:37.00.
But so too have two other Irish athletes and there are just three places up for grabs.
Jennings has run a faster time than McCambridge but Irish athletic bosses are to take into account previous marathon history.
McCambridge has much more experience over the distance than Jennings.
However, the decision will be down to the selectors and both women may still yet don the Irish vest.
