Last year saw nearly 450 competitors take on the great new challenge of Gaelforce North.
The event was a great success with competitors travelling from across the country to experience all that Donegal has to offer.
With only 30 days to go until the second year of this event the organisers are hoping that this years event will be just as successful.
To help encourage new people to take part in adventure races and to show how they are achievable by all, the organisers have added a new Sprint course to the event.
This course will still include all the disciplines of the full course – cycling, running, kayaking and Errigal, but at 41km is more achievable for beginners to adventure races.
“We understand that the thoughts of taking on a course of 64km can be very daunting for those new to training and adventure races,” said Mona Purcell, race director.
“So the new 41km course will still be a challenge, will still show off the great scenery the area has to offer but is definitely achievable.”
Both the courses will run on the same day, the 23rd June, and entries are still open at www.gaelforceevents.com. If you fancy getting involved in the event on the day, the organisers are looking for locals to get involved and help out. If interested contact them on 095 42006 or emailinfo@gaelforceevents.com.
