IRELAND legends Paul McGrath and Ray Houghton will be on Arranmore Island in July to officially open the local soccer club’s new stand.

The Anthony Gallagher Stand at Arranmore United’s Rammagh Park will be unveiled on July 18th.

“This is a huge honour for the club as the FAI have stated publicly that we are the only official island team.” said a spokesman.

“That we were top of the list of clubs to visit while they spend a few days in Donegal prior to their AGM.”

A host of top FAI officials will also attend the event.

Manager Jerry Early said he was delighted the club were able to welcome the likes of McGrath and Houghton to Arranmore.

“It is just a huge honour to have players like McGrath and Houghton coming here. It’s going to be such a great occasion,” he said.
