Raidió na Gaeltachta could face cuts and the North West operations of RTÉ affected in massive cuts at the national broadcaster.
A document circulated to staff at RTÉ does not spell out its exact plans.
But it refers to the “re-positioning” of the Irish language radio station – which has a studio in Gaoth Dobhair – and a review of the regional offices of RTÉ by the end of the year.
Staff have already taken pay cuts in recent years and now face further pay cuts across the board of 4 per cent if savings of €25 million cannot be found within the organisation by the end of this year.
It’s thought RTÉ’s use of an office in Letterkenny will go and its studio in Sligo is on a hit-list.
