THE SUNNY North West is set for another week of good weather – as torrential downpours affect Munster, Connacht and Leinster.
The latest forecast from Met Eireann does show temperatures falling back from the heat of last week – and we will see some rain by mid-week.
But our charmed existence in Sunny Donegal is set to continue for a few more days, said the national forecaster.
Met Eireann has issued a weather warning for the south of the country with a flood warning in several areas as up to 40mm of rain could fall in some parts.
“But the North West will continue to have hazy sunshine and temperatures of up to 19C this weekend,” said a spokesman.
That’s great news for all the festivals taking place in Donegal this weekend, in particular in Ardara and Glencolmcille – and of course at the award-winning Rory Gallagher tribute festival in Ballyshannon where up to 12,000 people are enjoying ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor and Horslips.
Temperatures will fall back to around 15C through the rest of the week; and it will be chilly inland at night.
We will get some rain by Tuesday or Wednesday, but nothing like the downpours hitting the south of the country.
