Parish Retreat (Open to Everyone)
Directed by Fr. Flann Lynch OFM Capuchin
Theme: Christian vision, hope and possibility
This retreat will identify the thinking and attitude that undermines the vision and will discover the attitudes and tools that make the vision a reality in everyday living. Commences: 7.30 p.m. in St. Columba’s Church Burtonport on Monday 11th June for three nights. This coincides with the International Eucharistic Congress, and is an attempt to mark the occasion in our parish.

Other Parish Events during the Congress
On Thursday 14th June there will be a Holy Hour in St. Mary’s Church at 7.00 p.m. with confession, reflecting the IEC2012 theme of that day, “Reconciliation”.
On Friday 15th June there will be a mass of healing in St. Columba’s Church at 7.00 p.m. with anointing of the sick. This coincides with the IEC2012 theme of that day, “Suffering and Healing”.

Ice Cream Sundae
The annual Ice Cream Sunday event will be held outside Joe and Mary Rodgers Home in Burtonport this Sunday between 12 and 4 p.m. Please support this worthy cause.

IEC2012 Family Prayer Cards
The Diocese has produced a family prayer card for each family in the diocese as part of the preparations for the forthcoming congress. You may pick one up at the back of the chapel. Please bring one home for relatives and friends who might not get to Mass.

Burtonport Welcome Centre
The centre is presenting “Reflections of Burtonport” which is a celebration of the fishing industry of Burtonport and the surrounding Islands. Comprising of exhibits/demonstrations of skills and Artwork focused on the fishing industry. We are seeking contributions /volunteers for these events, particularly local people who could share stories and experiences from the past. Please contact 087 7719708. “Reflections of Burtonport” will run from Friday 29th June through July.

Knitting Circle
Anyone interested in joining a knitting circle in the welcome centre? Contact 087 7719708.

“Scrap Metal Monday”
A scrap metal collection will be made in aid of the continued development of the Old Railway Walk, this Bank Holiday Monday – 4th June, between 10am and 4pm at the upper factory on the railway road, Burtonport.
Please support this project if you can by checking your shed or garage for items you would like to get rid off which are made from metal, copper, steel, etc …. eg: boilers, old radiators, bicycles, etc… (No fridges or toys). Please give us a ring we will gladly collect big items. NO ITEMS to be left at factory before 10 on Monday please.

Night at the races
A Night at The Races – in aid of the 20th yr celebrations of the Community Centre Burtonport, will be held in the Lobster Pot on Friday 8th June at 8pm. Horses are currently on sale for €10 each. Your support on the night (or prior to the event with the purchase of a horse) will be greatly appreciated.

Public Meeting – Railway walk.
A public meeting to discuss all further developments in relation to the Railway Walk will take place in the Community centre, Burtonport at 9.30 on Tue 5th June. The 3rd phase of the walk is due to begin very shortly and the committee are anxious that everyone has a chance to contribute their views. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Burtonport Festival will hold a Public Meeting on Monday 11th June at 9:30pm in the community centre. The programme is almost complete and we would appreciate your input and support.

Do this in Memory
The last Mass of the Do This In Memory programme takes place this Corpus Christi Weekend. All parents of the communicants are asked to attend one last meeting to discuss this Mass in the Community Centre, Burtonport on Wednesday 6th June at 8.00 p.m. Procession to Port after Sunday Mass? Dressing again in Communion Outfits? Etc.
