Much to the relief of most, the early morning runs around Letterkenny’s Town Park were given a brief rest bite as Motiv8 contestants took to the bikes.
Racers, hybrids and mountain bikes were all out in force as Angus Hunter took the fitness enthusiasts on a cycle around the scenic environs of Letterkenny and surrounding countryside.
The standard for training intensity was set recently when Town Mayor Gerry McMonagle received the ‘Trainer of the week’ award.
Speaking about the Motiv8 LK challenge the mayor said ‘The training is great, I have to say I haven’t felt as good in years…Roll on the 23rd June and the Gaelforce Challenge’!
In addition to the triathalon training, Motiv8 Celebrities along with local football club Downtown United F.C. will be undertaking a marathon 10 hour cyclathon to take place in Letterkenny Shopping Centre this Saturday June 2nd from 10am to 6pm.
Tickets for the Motiv8 LK Raffle will be available for purchase. All profits raised on the day will go towards Motiv8 LK’s charity partner Donegal Action for Cancer Care.
Betty Holmes from the charity added ‘We hope to see a great crowd coming out on Saturday to support the cyclists and DACC, but just don’t expect to see me on the bike!’
