Portsalon Golf Club

 

 

Team News

It was a busy week on the team front for Portsalon Golf Club, first up was the Donegal Senior team led by Stephen Connolly who entertained Letterkenny golf club. Playing the first leg on home soil saw the Portsalon team emerge with five matches to two matches.The return leg takes place this week On Friday evening Cathal Toland had his first venture into management of the Donegal League team and led his charges across Knockall to Otway golf club for the first round match. The travel again posed a problem for the travelling Kingdom golfers as the men from Otway came away winners by five matches to one. The return leg will be a difficult encounter which will take place on Friday evening.

Fixtures

On Saturday 9th June there is an open stableford competition. On Sunday 10th it’s a members competition. On Wednesday 13th th it’s a gents open competition . A time sheet is in operation for all competitions at Portsalon Golf Club, contact 074 91 59459 for your tee time or go online at www.portsalongolfclub.com Members should note that the first tee is reserved on Tuesday 12 June from 9 a.m/ to 1.30 p.m. for the Dnegal seniors and on Thursday 14th from 10.30a.m to 3.30 p.m for the Ladies seniors

 

Results

The winner of the Wednesday open was Winner: Gary Sheehan (18) 45 points runner up: Jackie Barrett (27) 41 points Gross: Chuck Mc Taggart (13) 27 points. Ton Saturday the winner of the Rathmullen football club classic was Ronan Mc Clafferty, Damien Mc Clafferty, Enda Mc Clafferty, Aidan Friel with 99 points. On Sunday the winner of the members competition was Winner: Micheal Shields (F) (18) 41 points, runner up Sean Barrett (13) 39 points 3rd: Paddy Mc Groarty(19) 38 points B.O.T. The winner of the bank holiday open competition was Barry Keeney (12) 41 points, runner up Declan Kerr (19) 41 points, Gross J Spence Foyle (7) 30 points, 3rd Rory Kenney (12) 39 points, visitor Declan Martin Letterkenny (20) 38 points

Mixed Foursomes

The team captain of this season’s mixed foursomes has arranged competitions each Friday evening at 6.30.

Members and visitors please note that divot bags are now available on entry to the first tee box. Please ensure that you pick up a bag and assist with the course maintenance
