DONEGAL SOCCER FANS LEFT STRANDED IN POLAND AFTER CAMPSITE CLOSED DOWN

Breaking News: Six Donegal soccer fans have been left stranded in Poland after being turned away from their campsite.

The well known Letterkenny lads arrived in Poznan today and were getting ready to enjoy a six day trip of a lifetime following Ireland.

However when the young men went to get into their campsite they were told it had been shut down because it did not have the proper license.

The fans including Ronan McLaughlin, Ross Trearty, Jack O’Doherty and Tony Ryan are now scrambling to make alternative plans.

The fans booked the site through a well-known booking agency online and have been trying to contact the agency without success.

Even more worrying is that the lads have also booked campsites in Gdansk for two nights of their stay at Euro 2012 and are worried that camp may be closed also.

Ronan McLaughlin told Donegaldaily.com from Poznan that they had been offered a room for the night by fellow fans but were anxious to get alternative accommodation for the rest of their stay.

“It’s just a little bit of a shock. When we arrived the police were here and told us the place did not have the proper license.

“We have been trying to contact the booking agency and we are hoping to hear back from them.

“We have been offered a place to stay in a room tonight but hopefully we can get it sorted for the rest of the stay,” he said.
