ARDARA TO COME TO A STANDSTILL FOR TRAGIC TOMAS’ FUNERAL

A huge crowd of mourners is expected today when tragic Ardara man Tomas Maguire will be buried in his hometown of Ardara.

A guard of honour has been organised to say a final farewell to Tomas on the town’s Main Street.

Tomas, 24, was killed following a freak traffic accident in Australia on Monday week last.

A huge outpouring of grief in recent days across the county highlighted how well Tomas was thought of by his many friends across Donegal.

He was waked at his family home at Glenview Park before the funeral mass at the Church of the Holy Family at 2pm today.

Tributes have flowed in for Tomas in recent days from Australia to Boston where Tomas played club football for a time.

A minute’s silence was also observed at yesterday’s Ulster Championship clash between Donegal and Derry at MacCumhaill Park.
