GARDA forensic experts are at the scene of house in Churchill today where a man’s body was found last night.

The dead man, who was in his 60s, was pronounced dead at Letterkenny General Hospital last night.

The man was well known in the area.

“Gardai are treating this incident as an unexplained sudden death and as such are investigating it,” stressed one source, “however we don’t suspect a crime at this stage.”

Local people say they are shocked at the death of the man.

The scene around the house has been sealed off and a technical examination is continuing.

“Everyone is waiting to see what the guards find out,” said one Churchill resident today, “the dead man would be well known around here and beyond and it is hard for us to take it.”

A post mortem will be carried out later today but at this stage Gardai are not treating the incident as suspicious.
