LETTERKENNY CHAMBER GETS BEHIND AN ACTION PACKED SUMMER ON ITS STREETS

Letterkenny Chamber and Shop LK are bringing a feast of entertainment to the streets of the town this summer.

Throughout June they have  been working with many others in promoting Letterkenny.

As we get into the Summer there’s lots of festivals and activities that hopefully attract visitors and local people from across Donegal.

Last weekend the Chamber attended the launch of the Earagail Arts Festival in The MAC in Belfast.

It brought a taste of Donegal right to the heart of Belfast. There was food from Rathmullan House and the entertainment provided was from Little John Nee, The Henry Girls and Fidl. On a wet night in Belfast it was a really uplifting experience re-igniting the audience’s connection with Donegal.

The festival runs from 7th to 22nd July www.eaf.ie

This year we have forged stronger links with the festival so they will be bringing street theatre to the Main Street with Fiddling Foxes & Sitting Ducks on 7th July and the fantastic Professor Plunger on Saturday 21st. Both acts will create fun and a unique experience for the audience on both days.

We’re delighted to be working with The Earagail Arts Festival to bring high quality street theatre to the streets of Letterkenny.

The Musical and mischievious Fiddling Foxes fiddle their way along Letterkenny’s Main Street on 7th July to wow you with their canine exploits.

They may be fantastically cute but beware of their sly and wily ways! It’s nesting time and Mr and Mrs Mallard, the Sitting Ducks who are house-hunting. Can they find the perfect home for their future family? Come along and find out. And don’t worry, we know foxes are very fond of poultry, we’ll make sure to keep them well apart! www.buibolg.ie

Professor Phoncible P. Plunger, who we’ll meet on 21st July, is the famous inventor of the fireproof marshmallow and non-stick adhesive. An interactive street show, a non-verbal comedy clown show.

The Professor is ready to show off his greatest invention; his amazing hair! An inventive and original show featuring dancing, hair, plungers and a bell playing finale. The Professor is a charming old world rogue with a little cheeky grin and a very large head of hair.

These are just two pieces of the events happening this Summer. All of this activity, funded by Letterkenny Town Council, is aimed at creating a great atmosphere all Summer for visitors and locals so keep an eye on our Shop LK Facebook page for more information and share with all your friends.

Through Shop LK we want local people to re-discover what Letterkenny has to offer from an amazing number of independent retailers, a fantastic range of cafes, restaurants and pubs, all the big brand names and so many high quality family attractions. All of that with prices that were never better and friendly service, Letterkenny really is the shopping centre of Donegal.
