It’s understood the Garda investigation is at a critical stage and there is growing confidence that members of the five-man gang will be caught.
The thieves struck in the early hours of Sunday morning at Colm Dillon Cars near Manorcunningham.
Gardai released more details of the raid in which €93,000 worth of cars and jeeps were stolen.
They revealed that five raiders took part in the robbery and all were wearing balaclavas to avoid CCTV footage.
The robbers broke into a steel cupboard which held the keys for the cars and then cut a hole in a wire fence before driving the cars across fields in the direction of Northern Ireland.
Gardai say the vehicles, a red Audi A4 worth €27,000, a 2008 red Audi A5 worth €26,000 and a grey Toyota Land cruiser worth €40,000, are all now back at the garage.
