Arranmore Lifeboat: Called out today

ARRANMORE lifeboat has been called out today to rescue a vessel stranded off the island.

The ship got into difficulties earlier today after an engine failure and efforts are underway to bring it ashore.

No-one was injured and no lives were at risk.

“It was a diver support boat and it has lost its steering and the lifeboat is standing by to tow it in,” said Nora Flannigan from the Arranmore Lifeboat.

“Thankfully conditions are calm and there is no danger to anyone.”
