FRIENDS PAY TRIBUTE TO TRAGIC SHANE WITH HEARTBREAKING VIDEO

There has been a huge out-pouring of grief across Donegal following the sudden and tragic death of young Drumkeen man Shane Patton.

Having just completed his Leaving Cert, Shane had his entire life ahead of him.

And then suddenly for some unknown reason it was taken from him in an instant.

Messages of sympathy have been flooding in for the 19 year old who was remembered for his good nature and easy-going manner.

He touched so many lives for the short time he was here.

Sincere sympathy here goes to his mum Julie, dad Martin and brother and sister Jason and Deena and to all his friends and family.

Removal from Letterkenny General is at 6pm today (Friday) with Requiem Mass at 11.30pm at Drumkeen Chapel on Sunday.

The video was compiled by his close friends and set to music by Ed Sheeran in his song ‘In Memory’.

The words for the song are below:

I write this song in memory of
The wayward smile
The boy we won’t forget
The soul you took away from us
The river flows
The tears that we wept

Missing you
Is all that needs to be said
More than blue
The words inside my head

And I know that you’re gone

The cheeky smile
Of jokes and laughs
The memories of times
We crossed the line
The stepping stones
Across my mind
Washed away
We all now feel so blind

Missing you
Is all that needs to be said
More than blue
The words inside my head

And I know that you’re gone

Goodbye
