Ireland’s second oldest person has died just three months short of her 107th birthday.
Bridget ‘Biddy’ Mc Gee, 106, from Mín na Craoibhe, Annagry, West Donegal passed away at Dungloe District Hospital today Saturday.

The great-great grandmother was admitted to the hospital over a week ago but prior to that she remained in reasonable health.
Biddy was hale and hearty all her life and on her 106th birthday last October she partied the night away at the nearby Leo’s Tavern.
She still collected her pension at Annagry post office up until a few months ago and often went shopping and to the bank in Dungloe.
Biddy always maintained her secret to a long healthy life was early to bed, early up in the morning and a daily glass of milk. She would always celebrate her birthday with a glass of Baileys.
In 2002 Biddy battled flood waters that threatened her home but was not left wanting as she took a mop and bucket and helped clean up the mess.
Despite her big age she always exercised her right to vote in elections and referendums but because of sore bones she did not vote in this year’s referendum.
Funeral arrangements to be confirmed.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter.
The oldest person in the country at present is Mary Kate Byrne, of Maganey, Co Laois, who will be 108 on August 14th.
