A guard of honour from Glenswilly National School will leave Letterkenny woman Maggie Doherty (nee Dorrian) to her final resting place today.

The loving mother of five, who was just 34, passed away at Letterkenny General Hospital on Saturday morning after a brave battle with illness.

There was huge shock as a result of Maggie’s passing.

Hundreds of people called to Maggie’s wake in the past two days at the home she shared with her husband Ciaran and five loving children.

Maggie was a member of the well-known Dorrian family from Rahan who run a building contracting business.

She will be buried after her funeral mass at midday today at Glenswilly chapel and to the adjoining graveyard.

She her survived by her husband and children and also by her mother Lil and her brothers and sisters.

Donegal Daily would again like to express our genuine sympathy to the Doherty and Dorrian families.

Maggie held a special place in many people’s hearts not least of her family for whom she lived every minute.

A mother and wife can be afforded no greater tribute.

Rest in peace Maggie.
