One of Donegal’s best-known designers has returned to live in Ireland.
Handbag designer Pauric Sweeney is one of the world’s most iconic handbag designers.
Born and raised in Falcarragh, where his parents owned a draper’s shop, Sweeney was educated in Blackrock College in Dublin before moving to America to study architecture.
Having spent the past 10 years in Italy, Sweeney has returned to live in Dublin to continue to carve out a career at the high end of the fashion industry.
His handbags start at €1,000 and one of his most recent clients was Rhianna.
The singer joins a long list of celebrities who are buying into brand Sweeney including Kate Winslet and Jennifer Lopez.

Pauric, who turns 40 soon, says he loves being back in Ireland but cannot get over the price of things here.
“The price of food here is immense. I had dinner out and I got a house wine and it was 25 quid.
“I am not a socialist but I do believe everybody should be able to afford to go out and have dinner and a bottle of wine,” he said.
