Top Letterkenny restaurant Sargasso have a new head chef – and he comes straight from Nevin Maguire’s kitchen.

Martin Hernandez trained at the television chef’s famous McNean House in Blacklion in Cavan.

Sargasso owner Colette Kelly said she is delighted to have Martin on her team.

He previously worked in both two Michelin star restaurant The Ledbury in Notting Hill, London and also Dublin’s The Residence Restaurant.

“I’m delighted to have Martin join the team and with his work ethic, expertise and experience he is really settling in.

“After just one week he has received many compliments on his food and fast service from our customers – both new a regulars,” said Colette.

Meanwhile the winner of Sargasso’s Facebook competition is Jenni Timoney.

Enjoy your meal with Martin’s new touch Jenni!
