Naomh Colmcille Jigs and Reels
Congratulations to Joe Donaghy and Maria McFadden who were crowned Lord and Lady of Naomh Colmcille after a hugely successful Jigs and Reels event in the Clanree Hotel on Saturday night. Joe and Maria beat off stiff competition from the other 11 couples to emerge winners. Special mention goes to all 25 dancers taking part for their commitment to the event, and to the dance teachers Shaun and Sarah. A crowd of well over 450 people enjoyed a wonderful night’s entertainment. The club would also like to thank the Clanree for hosting the event, all the local businesses that sponsored it, Jacqui and her staff at the Edge hairdressers for the beautiful hairstyles and Sharon and Alison for organising it.
There were no senior or reserves matches this weekend. Well done to the minor team for a great Championship win over Glenswilly

Naomh Colmcille’s Weekly Lotto: This week’s winning sequence was 2.6.7.13.16. Congratulations to Patrick Devenney, Paul Friel and Karen Hannighan who won €25 each. The Club would like to take the opportunity to Thank Everyone for their continued support of the Lotto as it gives the Club the essential means of continuing to give our local Kids and Adults the chance to avail of a great and healthy pass time.
The club is now registered for a ‘Lucozade sport promotion’ where we could get either €10,000 if we collect the most bottle caps, or entered into a draw for €5,000 if we collect over 500 caps, so start collecting your bottle caps now!’ There are only a few weeks left for this promotion so please leave all bottle caps in the bag just inside the door of the clubhouse. Caps can also be given to any Club member, player, and coach or committee member.
Naomh Colmcille would greatly appreciate if everyone in the local community and beyond could start collecting these caps on behalf of the Club as it would mean a great deal to our local youth and bring much needed equipment to aid the development of our underage teams.
Congratulations to Thomas McKinley and the Donegal senior team on their excellent win over Kerry in the All Ireland Quarter Final in Croke Park yesterday. Best of luck in the semi-final against Cork.
Congratulations also to Daniel Rodgers (CKC Takeaway) from Newtown who appeared on RTE’s Big Money Game over the weekend.
