A PENSIONER has died in a road traffic accident in Co Donegal this morning.
Gardai in the county are investigating the circumstances of a single vehicle fatal collision at Fintown.
The victim has been named locally as Eddie McGuigan who was a married man with no children.
His wife Kitty was today being comforted by family and friends.
A Garda spokesman told donegaldaily.com: “At approximately 0015 hours a man aged in his 70s died when the motor car he was driving veered off the road and into a field at Meenmore, Fintown.
“His body was removed by ambulance to Letterkenny Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
“Forensic collision investigators have been notified and traffic diversions are in place.”
