THE next generation of Donegal athletes contributed handsomely to a Celtic Games youth team victory in Aberdeen Saturday over neighbours Scotland and Wales.
Finn Valleys’ Fellan McGuigan, with a new personal best in the hammer at 67.39m struck gold.
Kate McGowan from Donegal Town saw a victory and a gold performance plus a Celtic record of 11.67 in 80m hurdles into a -2.5 wind.
And Valley’s John Kelly in the shot 16.51m with his clubmate Dalton Mc Guigan and brother of Fellan taking the bronze in the steeple 2k 6.20.85.
Well done and we look forward to many fine performances from these young hopefuls who are national age group champions in Ireland.
