The family of a man whose life was saved in Lough Swilly at the weekend believe people will die if the coastguard station that helped in his rescue is closed.
Patrick McNamee, 22, from Letterkenny, was swept a mile and a half out to sea and was drifting unconscious, as donegaldaily.com reported last weekend.
Now the family of Patrick have hit out at Government proposals to close Malin Head Coast Guard station, saying it will cost lives.
The station helped coordinate last weekend’s rescue of Patrick – helped by a tourist on land with binoculars.
The family spoke to BBC NI’s Keiron Tourish.
