MORE than 40mm of rain has hit Co Donegal overnight – leaving many roads in a dangerous condition.

Readers have reported flooding on roads around Lifford, Letterkenny, Milford, Rossnowlagh and Buncrana.

The torrential rain should ease by dawn, leaving a bright day for most on Friday.

That’s before heavy showers return by evening.

Saturday is looking like being the best day of the weekend with sunshine and temperatures up to 21C.
