RORY’S MISSING MATCHES! SINGER REVEALS HE CAN’T MAKE SEMI-FINAL AT CROKER

Donegal’s musical mascot may have the entire county singing ahead of Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final appearance – but Rory Gallagher can’t get to the big game at Croke Park.

The chart-topping musician’s song ‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ is riding high in the iTune charts and has been watched by more than 130,000 on You Tube.

He has received messages of support from the Donegal team and kids and parents are singing the song everyday.

But Rory has revealed he has a contract to sing for the next few weeks at Charlie’s Bar in sunny Lanzarote.

A confident Rory revealed “I wont be able to get there for the game because I have a three month contract here

“The money I make from the downloads will hopefully pay for the flight and a good time at home with Sam Maguire.”

The Kilcar rocker has said he still can’t believe how popular his song has become since he penned it a few weeks ago.

He has even been contacted by Donegal players Mark McHugh, Karl Lacey, Eamon Magee and others complimenting him on the song.

“It’s like I’m living on the moon out here in Lanzarote.

“People have been emailing me and calling me telling me how it has become this sort of anthem at home but I can’t appreciate it.

“I play it here in the bar and the only ones who go mental when I do is any Donegal folk who are in,” he said.

Rory said he will be watching the game on Sunday against Cork in Charlie’s Bar with some Donegal friends.

“It doesn’t help that the owner is a Corkman Barry Murphy. I could well get the sack if we beat them,” he laughed.
