TWELVE DONEGAL CHILDREN SOUGHT TO BE STRONGMAN MASCOTS

Twelve children from across Donegal will get the honour of acting as mascot to Europe’s strongest men.

A competition to find mascots for Europe’s Strongest Man Under 90kg finals was launched this week.

The event takes place in Letterkenny on the weekend of 14-15 September and will be broadcast on Setanta Sports.

Parents are invited to send their “strong-themed” nominations to organisers outlining why their child deserves to walk out with one of Europe’s strongest men under 90kg.

Co-organiser Nigel Drein of Motiv8 Fitness says, “this is a great opportunity for local children to get invoved in this international event. It’s a family event so we decided to allow 12 lucky children act as mascots to our 12 finalists. We want members of the public to nominate children who they believe have demonstrated great strength in overcoming illness or other challenges in their lives. Nominations are now open and will be accepted until Monday 10th September.”

Winning mascosts will lead out each finalist on Saturday the 15th of September in Letterkenny Town Park.

For your child to be in with a chance to become a strongman mascot simply contact Joanne Sweeney-Burke of Media Box and tell us in 100 words or less why your child deserves to be a mascot.

Email entries to joanne@mediabox.ie or post entries to Media Box, Enterprise Fund Business Centre, Ballyraine, Letterkenny.

Entries close on Monday the 10th of September. Finalists will be announced on Wednesday 12th of September on the European Strongman Facebook page and website.
