DONEGAL SPORTS PARTNERSHIP MAKES KEY APPOINTMENT

Donegal Sports Partnership has announced the appointment on a short term part time contract of Karen Guthrie as Coordinator of the Innovative Programme for Sport and Recreation.

Karen, from Castlefin, is well known in Ladies GAA as a midfielder with Donegal Senior Ladies GAA team which won an Intermediate All Ireland Football Championship in 2010.

A Bachelor of Science in Sport and Sciences graduate from the University of Ulster, Jordanstown Karen will join the DSP team as a project coordinator to support the delivery the sports programme funded by the Donegal CDB Peace and Reconciliation Partnership.

This programme will focus on using the values of sport and physical activity in eliminating issues relating to sectarianism, racism and social exclusion within communities across Co Donegal and will run until June 2013.

Information sessions relating to the programme will be held in Inver and Letterkenny over the next few weeks and all are welcome to attend.
