ENVIRONMENT campaigners are calling on those opposed to a massive wind farm in Co Donegal to get submissions ready for an upcoming oral hearing.

The Gweebarra Conservation Group said in a statement that the Planning Board has announced October 16th, 2012 as the opening date of the Oral Hearing into the proposed 25 turbine wind plant at Straboy and five other townlands outside Glenties.

Said a spokesman: “The Oral Hearing will commence at 10.00am in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties.

“Anyone may make a submission or speak at the Oral Hearing. If you are living locally and are opposed to the wind plant but do not feel able to speak in public you may make a submission in writing or tell us why you are opposed to this project and we will make a submission on your behalf.”

He asked anyone who wanted to object to email gweebarraconservation@gmail.com.
