A Facebook site warning about the location of Garda checkpoints across Donegal now has more than 1,000 friends – less than two days after it was set up.
Garda Checkpoints Donegal has 1,193 likes since it was set up on Wednesday.
The creators of the site have defended it saying it allowed people to slow down at dangerous locations where patrol cars normally parked.
Posters are asked to post locations of checkpoints across the county.
Yesterday posters informed other users there were speed cameras in Letterkenny, on the Lifford Road and in Bundoran.
