VIEWPOINT: ‘WHY WE MUST OPPOSE GAY MARRIAGE’

Dear Sir,

Urgent!! Voice your Opposition to same sex marriage

True Love is about making sacrifices for others rather than seeking pleasure for oneself.  Deep joy is usually a component of a loving relationship and this doesn’t have to include physical contact.  Honest friendship has true and lasting value.

Marriage celebrates the love and commitment of a man and woman in a loving permanent relationship.  Our councillors would do well to make marriage more accessible for the families and future parents who simply can’t afford to be married.

Everyone is entitled to give and receive love.  Marriage however is a sacred bond between a man and woman.  Ms Mc Callion’s motion presented to Letterkenny County Council to support gay marriage confuses the issue of rights and entitlements with changing the institution of marriage.

By opposing this motion – it is not infringing on anyone’s rights as we cannot change the institution of marriage.

Do we understand the dangers for society of changing the whole concept of marriage?

Gay marriage undermines the family.

I would ask your readers to contact their local councillors, mobile numbers are available on www.donegalcoco.ie.  Call today!
