Weekly Notes
Congratulations to Naomh Colmcille’s first All-Ireland senior football champion, Thomas McKinley, and the rest of the Donegal squad, on their magnificent triumph over Mayo in Croke Park on Sunday. Naomh Colmcille members and the wider Newtown community were out in force at Croke Park on Sunday to cheer on Michael Murphy and the lads on a never-to-be-forgotten occasion. The Sam Maguire cup is due to visit Newtown this week on a flying visit and hopefully will be back again in the very near future.
Our young u13 team lost out in their match home to Convoy on Friday.
Naomh Colmcille Training Schedule this week is as follows
- Under 8’s: Training will be this Saturday 29th of September at 11 am.
- Under 10’s: Training on Friday night at 6:00.
- Under 13’s: Match away to Red Hughs this Friday (28th) at 6:15 pm.
- Under 16’s: training/match tbc; please check Facebook or club website for updates.
- Under 18’s: training/match tbc; please check Facebook or club website for updates.
- Gaelic for Girls training: training TBC.
Can all under age players please bring €2, boots, shorts /track bottoms and a drink please.
- Senior training will continue this week as per notification via TEXT from Senior Manager Joe Higgins

Naomh Colmcille’s Weekly Lotto: This week’s winning numbers were 19, 20, 3, 23, 14. Closest match three (19, 20, 3) was Michael O’Donnell who won €75. The Club would like to take the opportunity to Thank Everyone for their continued support of the Lotto as it gives the Club the essential means of continuing to give our local Kids and Adults the chance to avail of a great and healthy pastime.
