MASSIVE BOOST AS FINN VALLEY CENTRE PICKED FOR TWO MAJOR ATHLETICS MEETS

DONEGAL is set of for a major boost next summer after the Finn Valley centre in Stranorlar was today chosen as the venue for TWO major meets.

Both the Ulster  Athletics Council and Athletics Ireland have seperately confirmed that the venue for the 2013 Childrens Games will be at the recently completed Finn Valley Athletic Club track.

“It is certain to attract many hundreds of visitors to the area,” said Patsy McGonagl.

In early June the club will host Ulster under 9,10,11,12,13 with the National Games later that month.

Added Patsy: “This track meet has been held in Tipperary and Cork in previous years and in adddition to parents, coaches and supporters travelling into the county, it’s a home game for local young athletes.”
