Lifford Clonleigh Resource Centre
Lifford Clonleigh Resource Centre, under the LEADER programme has secured funding to update the existing multi-purpose recreation facility. This update is costing €115,000 and Leader are funding 75% of the amount (€87,000), with the Resource Centre making up the other 25% (€28,000). Sportslawn Ireland will be carrying out the work which will be commencing in the next few weeks and weather permitting; the work will be completed with 4 – 6 weeks. This is to include a fifa 2 rated surface which is off such a high standard that Chelsea F.C have the same surface. The existing flood lights will be enhanced, new overhead netting will be put in place along with new perimeter fencing. The car park area will also be newly tarmaced. All the management and staff at the Resource Centre are delighted to have secured this funding and although the closure of the pitch may cause some inconvenience, we feel that the quality of the facility will compensate for this.
Blossoms (A New 2 U Shop): The Resource Centre are opening a new charity shop in Lifford over the coming weeks and are appealing to anyone who may have a few hours to spare each week to volunteer and help out your local community. If this is of interest to you please contact 074 91 41773!
Further Education/Classes: We are hoping to run a number of new classes in the Resource Centre over the coming months but can only do so, if we have enough numbers to fill the class. If any of the areas listed below are of interest to you then please contact reception on 074 91 41773 and leave your details.
Creative Writing: A fun class where participants can express their ideas and opinions and join in with another group of people who have an interest in storytelling. Photography: A class where participants can learn all about photography. Sign Language: This is a beginners, accredited course where participants can further their skills with each module. Basic Irish: These classes will be for beginners or a refreshers course, ideal for parents who may want to help children with their homework or those who may have children attending Gaelscoil.
Pathway/Access Closure: Due to works being carried out on the multipurpose recreation facility, the pathway leading from the Resource Centre to the ABC Childcare Centre will be closed for the duration of the works as a Health and Safety Precaution. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
