MCHUGH THE HERO AS HARPS FINISH SEASON ON A HIGH

Finn Harps finished the season on a high with a 1-0 win over Longford Town at Finn Park.

And not for the first time it was the Donegal side’s loyal servant Kevin McHugh who popped up with the vital strike.

The game looked like it was heading for a scoreless draw when the Killea man struck in the 77th minute.

McHugh found himself on the edge of the box following a good pull-back from the end-line by James Doherty.

McHugh’s shot found itself in the back of the Longford net after a fortunate deflection off Chris Deans.

Harps kept the visitors to a minimum of chances and can be considered good value for money after taking the points from the third placed team in the league.

Peter Hutton will be pleased with his young team’s second half of the season – something he can build on with confidence.
