Seniors

The club won our fourteenth championship last Sunday after defeating KKG by a score line of 1-15 to 1-8.

Check the club website on www.tirchonaillgaels.com for a full report on the game and after party.

Fixtures:

This week’s fixtures are, on Saturday the reserve team play in the semi final of the championship against Parnells at Greenford with a 2.30pm throw-in.

The senior team play St Kiernans in the league also at Greenford with a 4pm throw-in all support welcome for both games.

Farewell Party:

This Saturday the club will bid farewell to our club president Michael McGlynn and his wife Margaret who leave these shores after over fifty years in residence.

Michael and Margaret have served the party for over thirty years and it will be a sad occasion to see them leave, but all at the club wish them well on their retirement back to Donegal.

Ladies:

Well done and commiserations to the TCG Ladies Junior team who lost out to a very good Thomas McCurtains Ladies in the Junior Championship Final on Saturday. Congratulations to Thomas McCurtains who have been the benchmark for Ladies Junior football in London this year. The TCG girls had already exceeded all expectations in reaching the final in their first year and despite the final scoreline gave a good account of themselves. The experience will stand our young team in great stead for further seasons with seven of the girls who played still under 16 and getting their first season of competitive football. Our inaugural year Junior Final squad who all played a part was; Mairead Sheahan, Susie Gill, Kayleigh Beasley, Katie O’Boyle, Grace Cunningham, Mary Flaherty(Capt), Fiona Campbell, Jenny Dillon, Carol McNicholas, Laura Hollywood, Fiona Morrissey, Ciara Rice, AnnMarie McGill, Dara Davey, Shannon Williamson, Rachel Lucas, Sheena Murray, Nicola Curran, Hayley Hoare and Jessica Campbell.

To finish the season the Ladies team face Thomas McCurtains again next Saturday afternoon in the Tom O’Connor Cup final at Greenford, time TBC.
