North West Regional Squad Day
Events – Hammer, High Jump and Sprint Hurdles
Where – Tir Chonaill A.C. facility/Abbey Voc. School, Donegal Town
When – Saturday – 20th October 2012 Time 11am – 2.30pm
Invited – athletes and their coaches in the 14+ age groups
Coaches/facilitators –
Garet Moffett, Hammer; currently coaching a number of nationally ranked hammer throwers –on his 3rd visit to the North West
Sharon Foley, High Jump – former National HJ record holder – 1.87m and World IAAF competitor
Eamon Harvey, sprint/hurdles – former Olympic Coach and coach to numerous International athletes. Currently R.D.O. for the North West region
Content of day
11.00 -12.30 – Coaching technique/recognising and correcting faults/video analysis
1.15 – 2.30 – Workshop on General and Specific Winter conditioning programme for the young athlete ref. Throws/Hammer; Jumps/High Jump and Speed /sprint hurdles
Cost – €5 – includes light refreshments/ bring own lunch

Gareth Moffett, Hammer Coach, requests that all athletes that possess their own hammers bring same – maybe by return indicate if you are bringing a Hammer
- If the day is not favourable High Jump and Sprints/hurdles groups will work inside during the practical sessions
- If you have not indicated that you or your athletes wish to attend please do so by return.
