The proud owners of turkeys number 4 and 6 have been seen wandering through grocery aisles in search of the cranberry sauce. Karen McGlinchey, making a meal out of her 20 points has opted for the healthier homemade version, while Monica McDonagh assisted by her morning porridge to score an equally good 20 points, may well give in and buy the jar.

Agnes Wiseman and Marian O’Sullivan are busy creating space for the runners up prizes of the chocolates and wine, scoring 18 points and 20 points respectively. Turkey competitions are ongoing both back and front 9’s. Hamper competitions are over 18 holes on Saturday and Sundays only. An aggregate of your 3 best cards is required.

Congratulations to Ian Orr, the head chef with Browns on the Green restaurant Letterkenny Golf Club and Browns Restaurant Derry, has won the top honour of chef of the year 2013 in Ireland, at the recent Georgina Campbell hospitality awards. Letterkenny Golf Club would like to congratulate Ian for his great prize. Ian has put together a fantastic bistro menu at Letterkenny Golf Club and everyone is welcome to come out and try this award winning exquisite food. The popular bistro menu is available every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Party parties are catered for and bookings can be made with Noreen on 087-2999311.

There’s lots to entertain you over the winter months in the club house. Every Wednesday night at 8pm there is a 26 Cards night. You just need to turn up. Every Thursday night, there is a bridge night hosted by Jimmy O’Donnell. For further information contact Jimmy 087 – 1378628

The very popular Quiz and Putting night hosted by Hugh McClafferty returns and monthly on Wednesday nights Lady Vice Captain Sandra McMonagle hosts the Book Club, next meeting on Nov 14th.

Anne Condon is seeking your old unwanted mobile phones which has all personal data deleted.. They can be sent for recycling to Fones4Life and swapped for a Defibrillator for the Golf Club. A special collection box has been ordered where you can deposit your phones. If you cannot find the collection box, please leave your phones in the bar or shop for Anne. This vital life saving piece of medical equipment would be a huge benefit to the club, maybe one day saving a life.
